About Stick Badminton
Stick Badminton is a casual sports game where I control a stick figure, return a flying shuttlecock, and try to outscore my opponent with well-timed shots.
I don't need to learn complicated rules before getting started, but I still have to watch the shuttlecock carefully and react at the right moment. A poorly timed move can leave me struggling to return the next shot, while a good hit can put my opponent under pressure.
How to play
In Stick Badminton, I keep the rally going and score more points than my opponents. I control my character to reach the shuttlecock and send it back across the net.
Player 1:
- W to jump
- A / D to move left and right
- Spacebar to swing the racket
Player 2:
- Arrow Keys to move
- S to swing the racket
Playing Stick Badminton also reminds me of Geometry Dash Lite because both games reward quick reactions and better timing.
Game modes
Stick Badminton offers two ways to play in the version described here:
- 1-player mode: I press the Start button to play against the computer. This is a good option when I want to practise my timing and get comfortable with the character's movements.
- 2-player mode: I can compete against another person in the same game. This makes each rally more unpredictable because my opponent may react differently from a computer-controlled player.

Play against another person becomes more enjoyable
I prefer practising alone first if I am unfamiliar with the controls. Once I can return the shuttlecock consistently, playing against another person becomes more enjoyable.
If I enjoy this kind of competition, I can also play other physics-based sports games such as Basketball Stars or Basketball Random.
Tips for Scoring More Points
- Watch the shuttlecock: I watch its direction and height so I can react before it reaches my side.
- Learn the movement: I spend a few rallies getting used to how my stick figure moves before trying more aggressive shots.
- Stay ready after hitting: I prepare for the opponent's return instead of assuming the rally is nearly over.
- Practise before competing: A few rounds in 1-player mode help me become more comfortable before challenging a friend.
