Introduction to Basketball Stars
Basketball Stars is a casual basketball game where I score baskets, defend my hoop, and use quick timing to beat my opponent before the clock runs out.
Every basket gives me two points, so I cannot afford to waste too many chances. The other player can block my shot or take the ball away, which means I have to watch what they are doing instead of rushing toward the hoop every time.
How to play
Each match in Basketball Stars gives me one minute to score more points than my opponent. I can see the remaining time below the score, so I always keep an eye on it when the match gets close. The gameplay basically switches between attacking and defending, and I need to handle both sides properly.

Look for space before moving toward the hoop
When my opponent has the ball, I try to get close enough to steal it or block a jump shot. When I have possession, I look for space before moving toward the hoop. I can try to get around the defender and finish with a dunk when I am close enough.
The movement reminds me a little of Geometry Dash Lite because reacting at the right moment can make the difference between succeeding and making a mistake.
Three game modes
1 Player
When I want to practice alone in Basketball Stars, I can choose 1 player mode. It includes Training, Random Match, and Tournament.
In Training, I usually start when I need to get comfortable with the controls. There is less pressure because I can focus on movement and shooting without dealing with a normal opponent or match timer.
Random Match puts me into a match against a randomly selected opponent. My team can have one or two characters, but I only control one character during the game.
Tournament gives me a longer goal to work toward. I compete through the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final against eight other teams.
2 Players
The 2 Players mode is useful when I want to play with a friend. It has 1vs1, 2vs2, and 2vs2CPU options.
In 1vs1, we face each other directly and have one minute to score more points. In 2vs2, we are still on opposing teams, with each person controlling one character.
The 2vs2CPU option changes things because my friend and I can play on the same team while the computer controls the other side.
If I want something similar, I can also look for other basketball, sports, arcade, fighting, and competitive multiplayer games like Volleyball Challenge.
Quick Match
Quick Match is made for getting into a game without spending much time choosing settings. I play against a randomly selected opponent, and the character selection is not handled in the same way as the other modes. The basic rules remain familiar, with a limited match time and points deciding the winner.
