What Is Geometry Dash World?
Geometry Dash World is a free rhythm platformer released by RobTop Games on December 21, 2016, the second spin-off in the series after Meltdown. It's larger than the other free spin-offs, with 10 short levels split across two worlds, Dashlands and Toxic Factory, and it launched as a preview of the main game's 2.1 update, showing off new mechanics and music before they reached the full version. While the official mobile app features daily levels, quests, and vaults, this browser version lets you dive straight into the core 10 levels without any setup.
How to Play Geometry Dash World
Your icon moves forward on its own, so the whole game is about reacting at the right moment. What kept me engaged is that each level throws in something new rather than repeating the last one.
- Jump over spikes and gaps with a single tap.
- Pass through portals that switch your icon into different forms.
- Hold to fly through the narrow ship corridors.
- Adjust instantly to gravity flips and speed changes.
- Lean on the music; the beat lines up with the jumps far more often than not.

Reach the end of each level without crashing
Controls
Desktop or laptop: press Space, the Up Arrow, or click the left mouse button to jump. Hold the same input to keep jumping, and to fly upward in the ship sections, release to drop.
Mobile or tablet: tap anywhere to jump, hold to chain jumps, and in ship mode hold to rise and release to descend.
Two Worlds: Dashlands and Toxic Factory
The 10 levels are split into two islands you unlock in order. Toxic Factory only opens once you've cleared all five Dashlands levels, which gives the game a clear sense of progression rather than a flat list of stages.
Dashlands
The first five levels, heavily featuring music by Dex Arson, are the bright, approachable half. They start with gentle jump timing and gradually add speed portals and tighter coin routes. This is where you build the rhythm before the game turns serious, and most players clear this world fairly comfortably.
Toxic Factory
The second five levels shift to a darker, toxic-green look and play noticeably harder despite similar star ratings. Faster speed portals, tighter gravity shifts, and more frequent form changes make this the half that actually tests you. In the official app, clearing this final stage is the key to unlocking online player-made levels, serving as a great payoff for conquering the official set.
Game Modes
Geometry Dash World has the same two modes as the rest of the series.
Normal Mode
I spent most of my time here because it's the full challenge: reach 100% without crashing, and any mistake sends you back to the start. It's frustrating at times, but finally clearing a stage after a stack of failed runs makes it feel earned.
Practice Mode
Whenever a level got the better of me, I switched to Practice Mode. It lets you drop checkpoints and restart from a specific spot instead of the beginning, which makes learning a tricky section far faster. It's worth using on the Toxic Factory levels before committing to full runs in Normal Mode.
More From the Series
If World clicks with you, the other free official spin-offs from RobTop are the natural next step: Geometry Dash Meltdown (2015) and Geometry Dash SubZero (2017), or the free Geometry Dash Lite if you want the classic main levels. There's also a fan-made take, Geometry Dash Breeze, though it isn't an official RobTop release.
